Privacy Policy
This page is maintained by the VoltLancer team to describe, in plain language, what data the platform handles and why. It is a starting template — for real-world deployments (including GDPR, CCPA, or other regulatory contexts) please have a privacy professional review and adapt these terms.
1. What we collect
- Account information: name, email, and profile details you provide when signing up.
- Content you upload: gig descriptions, portfolio case studies, cover images, and PDF attachments.
- Order data: messages exchanged during an order, file attachments, delivery status, and dates.
- Technical data: basic device and browser information, IP address, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the platform.
2. How we use it
- Provide, maintain, and improve the marketplace.
- Enable communication between clients and freelancers on orders.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Send transactional emails (account, orders, security). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
3. Public content
Information you publish as a freelancer — profile bio, gig listings, portfolio case studies, cover images, and public tags — is visible to anyone visiting VoltLancer. Do not include sensitive personal data in public content.
4. Sharing with third parties
We use trusted service providers to run the platform (hosting, database, authentication, storage, email delivery). They only process data on our behalf and under contract. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account by contacting us.
6. Security
We use industry-standard controls — encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security in the database — to protect your data. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond quickly to incidents.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Cookies and analytics
VoltLancer uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Children
VoltLancer is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. Material changes will be announced on the site. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
